Our History

Toolix Marven began three years ago in a small garage in Shibuya. We had only 50 public bicycles and big dreams. The first month was slow, but locals quickly saw the value of a modern bike sharing service without hidden fees. Little by little, our bright blue bikes became a familiar sight near stations and parks.

After the first year, we added our first smartphone app and expanded to Shinjuku and Minato. Word spread among students and office workers tired of crowded trains. Today, we operate over 1,500 city bike rental units across Tokyo. Yet we still keep our original promise: simple, honest, and green urban transport for everyone.

Our Achievements

We are proud to have passed three million rides in just over two years. That means millions of car trips avoided and countless tons of CO₂ saved. Our easy bike sharing network now covers 12 wards of Tokyo, with a new station opening every two weeks on average.

Beyond numbers, we reached a 98% satisfaction rate in our latest rider survey. We have also partnered with local non‑profits to give free public bicycles access to students with long commutes. Our bike sharing service was recently voted “Most Helpful Urban Mobility Solution” by a local community poll. Yes. You can end your ride at any official station within our service zone. Our easy bike sharing model is designed for one‑way trips without penalties.

Use the app’s “Report Issue” button. Our team will close your ride immediately and send a replacement public bicycle if you are near a station. You will not be charged extra.

In Japan, helmets are strongly recommended for all riders but not mandatory by law for adults. We encourage safety. Some urban transport plans include helmet lockers at select stations.
